This lesson starts on a hike through the Rocky Mountains with Zoe where we’ll be looking for scat (wild animal poop). On the hike, you’ll hear about how hikers, hunters, and biologists use scat to understand the behaviors and diets of wildlife. Then, you’ll do a hands-on experiment to model how your own digestive system works. You’ll learn why our bodies create waste, how nutrients are absorbed, and why we think poop is gross even though it’s a natural part of digestion!
What you’ll learn:
- The parts of the digestive system
- What your poop can tell you about your digestion
- What scat is
