As humans, we use our five senses to learn about the world around us. One of our senses is hearing, and the things we can hear are called sounds. What are sounds though? Can we experience sounds in any way other than hearing them?
In this lesson, we’re going to pay close attention to the sounds around us. We will put our ears to the test and see if we can guess sounds without seeing what caused them. Then, we will do an experiment to test if we can FEEL sound, and one to test if we can SEE sound. Along with our tests, we’ll learn more about how our ears pick up sound. We’ll also explore the terms we use to describe the science of sound.
What you’ll learn:
- What sound is.
- Hearing isn’t the only sense you can experience sound with.
